Taimi Arvidson is a director with over a decade of experience telling human stories for critically acclaimed documentaries, television series, and commercials.
She recently directed for the National Geographic Channel series MARS, which was executive produced by Ron Howard and Brian Grazer. The series was nominated for an International Documentary Association Award for Best Episodic Series and called “visually gorgeous” by The New Yorker.
Her other critically acclaimed television work includes Oprah Winfrey's BELIEF about human spirituality around the world, National Geographic's Emmy-nominated series HARD TIME about the lives of inmates, and CNN’s THIS IS LIFE WITH LISA LING. Her work has additionally been featured by clients such as Showtime, Apple, Esquire Magazine, Netflix, NBC, Sports Illustrated, Discovery Channel, and more.
Taimi is also an accomplished commercial director who has brought her cinematic eye to campaigns for NIKE, DODGE RAM, ULTA BEAUTY, TEXACO, ALLY BANK, and more.
Called “unexpectedly relatable” and “pure magic,” her first short documentary MAKE THEM BELIEVE about Moscow’s underground wrestling ring premiered with Filmsupply Originals as a Vimeo Staff pick and was selected to appear in the Oscar® qualifying Atlanta Film Festival along with 15+ other festivals globally.
Her debut feature documentary HOSSAIN has received support from the IDA, BAVC MediaMaker Fellowship, and AmDocs Film Fund.
